With the extra servo kit you will feel a positive lockup and the converter stays fully locked until it is released. You aren't going to get any neck snapping slam shifting but you will get a marked quickness and firmness in the shifts. Oh, how does it run? Like it should've when it left the factory.
#Corvette servo 4l60e pickup mod
There's a whole lot of info out there on this mod so if you're interested just put "corvette servo" in your fave search engine. I did take lots of pictures so I may put up a little "How To" post on the servo mod. I'm surprised no one has posted anything here on this subject. And you can be done in a couple of hours if you really take your time. So for about $100 you get some parts that will really bring a smile to your face when you're done this project has a high bang for the buck quotient. This is a custom made servo piston and cover made of billet aluminum the pieces are high quality with an improved piston seal and a different spring. The second kit is called the "Super Servo" that handles the overdrive and converter lockup it runs $77.33 at OPT. I guess you can score one on eBay but I would recommend going with the OPT guys that's where I got my stuff. The "Corvette Servo" kit is relatively cheap and the guys at (OPT) Oregon Performance Transmissions ( ) have the kit at $18.99. This is an easy modification to do and the improvement in shift quality is miraculous.

There are two servo kits: one is for the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts (the Corvette servo) and the other is for the 4th shift and converter lockup. not slipping but just taking its sweet time engaging second. My truck also suffered from what's known as a "slide bump" first second shift the tranny begins its shift and sort of hangs in limbo. I have read about the Torque Management system that's integral to the engine control computer that basically hamstrings the engine during various phases of driving and during transmission upshifts. I have to wonder if the design engineers didn't have some marketing mantra to design their full-size trucks to shift and ride like some ultra-cushy kind of limo.

I've ridden in Caddy's that have a more robust shift than the 4L60E in my truck. But one of the things I just couldn't stand was the truly wimpy way the thing shifts gears.
#Corvette servo 4l60e pickup upgrade
When I bought this truck last summer it was a nice upgrade from my '98. I just got done putting in both the servos in my '06 Sierra. This item works in all makes of this transmission.I was getting ready to put a post up about the Corvette servo mod. This pin can be changed with the transmission in the vehicle. The 1-2 and 3-4 shifts will be quicker and the servo will not go beyond its travel inside the servo bore. With the pin clearance adjusted down to the correct amount, the servo will not have as far to travel before it applies the 2-4 band. We find in almost all cases, just changing out this pin, will get you within the right range. This long servo pin allows for the proper pin adjustment. At 1/4”, the servo is at its max travel distance and is dangerously close to allowing the 2-4 band to slip and burn. This is way too much and should be adjusted down, closer to 1/16". Most stock servo travel is around 1/8"-1/4". This pin will help to get your band adjusted to the right clearance. This pin is the longest pin from ACDelco and longer than your stock length.
